Change used workspace [message #510175] Tue, 26 January 2010 10:48
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi all,

I have a question regarding the possibility to set a default workspace, don't prompt for workspace and recently used workspace.

Here are the scenarios:

1.) If I want that my Eclipse start with a custom default workspace every time I can set
-data <workspacepath> --> that's ok so far

2.) If I start Eclipse without the argument -data I get the recently used workspace in the workspace dialog during startup and the recent workspace path is stored in the file org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs --> this is also fine

3.) Now let's say I normally want to start without the workspace dialog. I add to my start cmd under win -data <workspacepath>. After I start the first time I change to another new workspace which is then in the pref file the recent workspace. If I have now another script which should start my eclipse but with the recently used workspace Eclipse starts every time with the workspace that is added to the argument -data.

So in other words, is it possible that I can say, please start with the recently used workspace or with the default -data workspace during startup?
Ok it

I hope my description isn't too confusing!?!?!

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Cheers,
Markus
