Hi,
I tried to display my product in a update site category.

I had no problems to do so using a feature:
Entered in the plugin.properties of the product's main feature:

category.id.ivy42feature=Xpert.ivy Designer 4.2 Feature
category.description.ivy42feature=This Updates your Xpert.ivy Designer
4.2 Feature
category.members.ivy42feature= ch.ivyteam.ivy.designer.feature

But I didn't manage to do this with the product itself.

Any idea?

Regards, Alain.

Hi Alain,
I think that at present, only features are considered eligible as category members. Displaying a product in a category
would imply that the product itself is something that you can install. Installing a product into a product is not possible.

I can see other use-cases where it would be feasible to display a product in some kind of group. Can you shed some light
on the use-case that you want to enable with this?

Hi Thomas
Thanks for your answer.

It's about usability.
If you want to update the whole product, by using the "Install new
Software" wizard, instead of using the "Check for updates" wizard, then
you need to deselect the "Group items by category" Checkbox in order to
see the "myProduct" in the list of available updates.

For this use case it would be nice to habe a group that would descripe
the things for update.

e.g

ivyTeam Product
- product 4.2.0.r12345

ivyTeam Features
- special feature A

--> But I think the user should simply use the "Check for updates" wizard.

Regards, Alain.
