Where is time tracking? [message #509331] |

I recently installed Mylyn and started playing around with it, but I
cannot seem to be able to use the time tracking features. Actually, I
see nothing related to time tracking anywhere in the task list. (The
last version I used had an "Activity: 00:00" line in the task tooltip
that never changed, but that went away with the last update to
3.3.1.v20091215.)
It should be noted that currently I'm using local tasks only. I have no
connectors or bridges installed.
So where is this time tracking feature?
Thanks in advance

Apparently, time tracking was disabled in preferences when I updated. I
have the "Activity: 00:00" tooltip back and this time it seems to be
working.
Now I have other questions:
1) Is there a way to edit this time, i.e. "Activity time" on a task?
2) Where else, apart from the task's tooltip, can I find this info? I
remember reading somewhere that I can create a File->New->Mylyn Task
Report, but I cannot find that, either.

See this Tasktop bug:
356: Adjustment to time made in Time Spent Report does not propagate to the Active Time for the Task?
https://tasktop.com/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=356
Basically, this feature is currently not supported. And I did not find any bug for Mylyn, just for
Tasktop (the commercial extension of Mylyn). So please feel free to comment and to file a Mylyn bug.
Please put me on Cc: in the latter case.

I guess this is also part of Tasktop now.

The corresponding Mylyn request is tracked here:
121337: [activity] add compensation/adjustment to elapsed time
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=121337
Please feel free to vote and add your requirements to the bug.

The task activity reports are no longer supported and are now part of the UI
Experiments feature available from the Mylyn incubator update site. As
Joerg points out time reporting functionality is also available in Tasktop
which offers more detailed graphical reports.
