Java - COM bridge. [message #507738] Thu, 14 January 2010 09:13
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello guys!

I'm a novice Java programmer and need some guidance.

I need to get access to application COM interface from java code. As far as I understand it is not possible to do this using standart libraries (though even Excel can access COM inteface of other programs via VBA, mmmm....). OK, what should I do? As far as I understand I need to set up a special library called Java-COM bridge to accomplish this. I have found the following: JACOB, OLEJA, j-interop.

My questions are:

1) Am I on the right way for accomplishing my task?

2) Which package to choose?

3) The libraries I mentioned are not very new. May be, something has changed now and there is a common simple way to do my task?

Thanks for your attention!
