gcc4 (4.3.4) uses unicode quotation marks inside its messages[1], for instance

f_proxy.c:12: error: expected ';' before '}' token

Unfortunately eclipse 3.5.1 with CDT 6.0.0 seems to have trouble displaying those messages in tooltips and the compiler warnings panel. Instead I get:
f_proxy.c:12: error: expected â€˜;â€™ before â€˜}â€™ token
