I think the best way for embedding native windows (on win32 platform)
into SWT is through OLE. Did you look at OLE snippets at
http://www.eclipse.org/swt/snippets/ ?
After embedding native windows, you may need to use X Windows calls to
re-parent such as XReparentWindow().

did you already find a way to embed a SWT Window into a native window (win32 window)?

I need to do it, and have found no Information about it.

Long time ago i saw an article about embedding external windows into SWT(not activeX)...

it uses SWT's win32 wrapper(OS class) to get the handle of the window and add the SWT window as its parent...

The same should be possible from any type of win32 library(C,C++)...

cuz the methods should be same in that language also...

I think you can provide the public member Control.handle
as the parent for an externally created window - we use this
to integrate dialogs opened via JNA in C++.

Hi,
i think we are talking about the opposite direction. I dont want to embed an external (win32 window) into a SWT Window. What I am trying to do is to embed a SWT Window into an external win32 Window. So, the win32 Window is now going to be the parent Window!

I have already tried the following: SWT.Window.handle = Win32.Window.handle, but it does not really work. And the same result when just replacing the handle from a Composite (not the whole Window)

Any Idea?

method is there which calls coresponding native win32 method....

The same method should be available in your win32 implimentaion(C++,.net,VB)

Hence i dont think there should be any problem...
Just analyse first how it is done in <WIN32 on SWT>...

and try to replicate it in <SWT on WIN32>...
