While creating my EMF model from XML Schema I noticed that key/keyref/unique constraints are ignored by the XSD Importer. How can these be added to the Ecore model?

While I have ideas like using typed references (ecore:reference) for simulating keyrefs, I am clueless when it comes to enforcing unique attribute values, for example.

Csaba,

They're not supported. You need to write such constraints by hand.
Check out the validation documentation on the documentation page.
