Simon,
BIRT provides a Viewer plugin that can be used in your SWT application
to run and view BIRT Reports. This plugin is used by the BIRT designer
to test reports while in the designer.
It runs on the Jetty plugin that he Eclipse help system runs on. Take a
look at this:
http://www.birt-exchange.org/devshare/deploying-birt-reports /792-eclipsecon-2009-integrating-birt/#description
and be sure to look at the link for the webinar at the bottom of the
description. There is an RCP example of including the Viewer in your
eclipse application.
