Tribix emitter on BIRT Viewer [message #495966]

I´ve recently downloaded and installed tribix emitter xls-emitter-bin_2.3.1.zip and poi-3.2-FINAL-20081019.jar and procceded as indicated on README file of the emitter. In Eclipse Report Design it works fine.
How can I use this emitter on Birt Viewer? Which steps to install the emitter on Birt Viewer? I tried to copy the files to ..\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\birt-viewer\WEB-INF\platform\plugins with no success.

Please, help!

Suri,

I havent tried this but it should be the following getting copied to the
plugins directory:
org.uguess.birt.report.engine.common_1.1.0.200907171402.jar
and
org.uguess.birt.report.engine.emitter.xls_2.5.0.200907171402

Verify that you also copied the poi jar
plugins\org.uguess.birt.report.engine.emitter.xls_2.5.0.2009 07171402\lib

What error are you getting?

Hi, Jason.

I´m using BIRT 2.3.2 that´s why I´m using tribix emitter version 2.3.1, not the 2.5 version as you say in your reply.
I tried to do what you said, i.e., copy those files to plugins directory but, when I tried to Export the result to Excel, I got this error in Firefox (IE don´t give me a clear message...):
"Error: $("exportPageCurrent") is null
http://localhost:8080/birt-viewer/webcontent/birt/ajax/ui/di alog/BirtExportReportDialog.js
Line: 118"
I observed that when I click the "Export report" icon, the popup window don´t have a checkbox named "Current page". Only have "All pages" and "Pages:" checkboxes. Does it have something to do with the error message???

I do also renamed org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.emitter.prototype.excel_2.3.2 .v20090331-1440.jar to other name.

I´m using Windows XP, in local installation.

Any suggestion? Sad

Hey, I don´t know what happened for sure, but I stopped/started TomCat and now it´s working!!!

I copied the emitter files to "..\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\birt-viewer\WEB-INF\platform\plugins" and the POI jar file to the emitters lib directory.
