Hi there,

I am doing some architectural checking of eclipse 3.4 and 3.5 (see eclipse summit europe 2009 Smile

Now I would also like to check e4 and there are quite some new packages/jar files.

I there a description of the e4 architecture ?
e.g. which packages/jar files should belong to which architecural layer ?

thanks in advance,
kind regards,
Berni

Hi Bernhard, I think the only architectural documentation of e4 is the
whitepaper:

http://www.eclipse.org/e4/resources/e4-whitepaper.php

This doesn't delve into package/bundle structures, although in most
cases it's fairly straight-forward to map package/bundle names to the
components listed in the white-paper. I should add that e4 is an
incubator so the architectural divisions and organization are very
preliminary and subject to change at this point.
