I'm using PDT with xDebug, and I'd like to be able to set a watchpoint. I think I'm supposed to be able to do this: if I select a variable in the Variables view during debugging, I should be able to then select "Toggle watchpoint" from the "Run" menu, to create a watchpoint that will break execution whenever the variable changes value. But the "Toggle Watchpoint" menu item is always greyed out. How do I enable watchpoints?

You can't. Watchpoints are not supported. If you want you can raise an
enhancement on bugzilla ( https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs ).

Ok, thanks. At least I know it's not something I'm doing wrong.
