Custom symbol set definitions in a team environment [message #489965] Tue, 06 October 2009 12:14 Go to next message

We are now using pulsar symbol set definitions quite extensively, and they are very useful. As well has preprocessing for different handsets, we are also using them to build custom versions of our product for different customers, which is great.

However, one snag we've hit is that the symbol definitions are a workspace setting, not a project setting, so are stored in the symbolDefinitions.xml file in the workspace metadata folder, rather than in the project,. This means that this file is not automatically checked in to our subversion repository, and we have to manually copy this file around the team if anyone adds new symbols.

So, would it be possible to introduce the concept of project-level symbol definitions, to be saved inside the project directory, and therefore easy to manage via source-control?

Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Could you open a bug with this request? Since we are planing the next release, maybe we can find the resources to work on this.

Thanks
Diego
