There are three things that would really make BIRT very much better:

1. Documentation
2. Documentation
3. More documentation.

The documentation level included with BIRT is very minimal. If you have lots of experience with BIRT, I imagine you're okay, but for those just starting out, it is very difficult to figure out how to do anything more than design very basic reports.

As specified in the other thread, you can refer to BIRT documentation and help in the following ways:-

1) Online documentation and help - You can access online resources like documentation, demos & examples, forums in this site and the the BIRT community site from Actuate at http://www.birt-exchange.org/. You can refer to http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/ and http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/community.php to access the available online resources.

2) BIRT books - You can refer to any of the following books at http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbo oks&field-keywords=BIRT&x=0&y=0.

If you are not able to find the documentation that you need from above, please providing the details in the survey.
