Hello,

a little questions breaks my heart and i did not find anything about that.

Is it possible to disable the preloading of reports? I have a few reports, that contains more than 1000 sites (every site contains explicit one data record - yes it is like the customer want) and the creation of that big reports will need a long time (minutes).

I would like to have it on the following way: The customer choose any report, then the data, then the preloading will begin (Processing, please wait...). If everything has been loaded, the report displays that there are more than 1.000 pages. Each click on any page will display the corresponding data. This will be done very fast.

In principle i would like to see the pages which are available (1 of 1000) and on clickthe data of the page will be displayed. Not all the data will be preloaded for a faster switch through the pages.

I hope i do understood everything correct and anybody could help me with my questions. Or is there any documentation about that i didnt know/see?

Best regards,
Tom

Tom,

Can you not run the report at an earlier time and then render it when
its needed? use the __document url parameter to render a previously
executed report.

Dear Jason,

no, this is unfortunately not possible. I have a lot of reports in a lot
of different constellations. "Preloading" all data (and using it later by
__document parameter) is not practicable.

It is a big problem for me to handle this. Well, it is in normal cases a
very useful feature to preload all data. So a page switch will be done
much faster.

But in my case i have reports with a looooot of pages, so preloading all
is a little bit annoying.

Do you know any other workaround for this?

Best regards (and mandy thanks at all),
Tom

Tom,

When you are using the viewer a report document is created which
contains all the data and then when you request a specific page the data
is retrieved for that page. I do not know of a work around for your
issue except maybe to use drill through reports. Like one report list
all constellations and then the user selects one and a new report runs
for the details of the constellation.
