Trying to load emx or epx files (generated with IBM Rational Software
Modeller) as UMLResource is very slow, if the computer is behind a
firewall with password protected proxy access to the internet.

It seems it wait for timeouts until it continues. Have anybody an idea
how to disable the access to the internet while opening the files (I
think that are some XML schemas that are tried to read).

Dieter,

Not that this is the right place to be discussing product-related issues,
but RSx provides an exporter that will remove proprietary references like
this from the model while converting it to Eclipse UML2 format. Perhaps you
could consider "exporting" your models before trying to load them using the
open source resource implementation?
