Hello all,
I would like to known how to migrate the rational rose model (i.e mdl)
file to UML2 model.
I have downloaded the required modeling plug-ins(topcased,mdt)...
Let me know what is the best approach to do the migration

Hi,
Using Topcased (and activating the experimental feature), there is an
import wizard that let you import UML models and the graphical
representation of the diagrams developed with RSM/Rational Rose :
Select "Import... > Model > Import models into Topcased", then in the
dialog, you have to select the corresponding transformation, choose
"Rose/RSM to UML2DI Transformation" and then you need to reference the
input model (an *.emx file as I know), and then the output model (enter
just the name of the target file without extension). The "Input
Metamodel" is not required.
Note that you also need ATL component used for the transformation. I
advised you to download one of the last integration build which are
still compliant with Topcased 1.x and Eclipse Europa : transformations
are much more fast with these versions than before.

It seems that there is a plugin missing or probably the feature is
disable. Do you have any message in the error log view ?
You need a first step to obtain the *.emx file from the *.mdl file, I
suggest you to have a look at the documentation available here :

For further questions related to Topcased use only, it would be better
to post on the appropriate user mailing list :

Hi,
I have downloaded all the relavent plugins for Topcased and ATL
transformation.When i say to import the model from topcased import wizard
i am not able to find the combo option "Rose/RSM to UML2DI Transformation"
And also where to find the *.emx file.Can you help with this regard
