Hi,
in the following days I encountered some crucial problems with topcased:
1. when creating a profile.umldi the associated .uml is not properly
refreshed (stereotypes missing, etc.) after saving the .umldi. Even
forcing a refresh in the .uml does not lead to a correct tree
respresentation. Closing and opening file neither does.
2. sometimes I can't open the profile's .umldi anymore. I always get the
error "Unable to open editor. Please check the input model".
This is quite frustrating since it seems I've got no chance to work with
profiles. Has anybody an idea? It seems some kind of synchronization
doesn't work.
I'd be glad for any help.
Regards,
Katja

We are aware of these problems related to desynchronization between the
model and the diagrams file. We advise against modifying the model file
outside the graphical editor until we provide a way to ignore
unreferenced elements during opening (This feature is planned for the
next 1.0.0 release).

Hi Katja,
This sounds like a problem specific to topcased and probably is not an issue
with opensource UML. You might have better luck trying to contact them
directly?
If you suspect there is an issue with opensource UML I would suggest trying
to isolate a scenario by using the sample UML editor if it is possible to do
so.
Good luck,
- James.
