Hiding Border [message #47457] Fri, 17 June 2005 05:59 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
I have applied bottom border on my data elements but there is a case that
I want to hide the border only and not the data elements where the border
applies to - it depends on my record just like shown below....can anyone
help?

Descritption Amount

Net Total 500 <--- apply border on this record
========= ===

Interest 100 <--- don't apply border on this record

Grand Total 600 <--- apply border again on this record
========== ===

Thanks,
Wins

Greeting,

According to your description, I suppose that perhaps you used the data
columns: row["Description"] and row["Amount"] to generate the records.

To set one of the rows (e.g. Interest) without the border, you could
follow the steps:
1. Click the data element row["Amount"], then go to Property Editor ->
Highlight tab -> invoke Add/Edit Highlight Dialog
2. Set: if row["Description"] Equals "Interest", then click the underline
button to make it without bottom border.
3. Do the same with the date element row["Description"].

Cheers.

Regards,
Nina

Hi Nina,

Thanks!..I really appreciate your help, but actually my problem is to hide
the bottom and top border (dashed style) and not the underline. Hope you
or anyone have solutions left for this...many thanks..

You might want to log a bugzilla bug to enhance the Highlight builder to
support border settings too ( the highlight builder already supports setting
font, background color etc. ).

For now a work around would be to add 2 data item ( for the same field) in the
same cell, set borders for one data item and not for other, for a given record
use visibility rules to hide one of the data element in each row. Not the best
solution.
