Hi all,

I developed a simple RCP application (workbench based), defined the
product and exported as standalone application. Now I would like to
document how to build plugins for such application.

I tried to set up the environment, following the same steps I used to
build the application, namely I created a plugin project defining a
target directory in which I install the RCP SDK and all the plugins
constituting my application. But it does not work properly (the launcher
fails).

Instead using as target platform the outcome of the "Eclipse Product
Export Wizard", that is the application that I want to distribute, it
works fine. However I noticed that, in this case, some features of the
Plugin Development Environment are missing, for example same templates
for adding extensions are not available.

So the question is: which is the better practice for developing plugins
related to a specific RCP applications?

thanks in advance
francesco

ps:
my application is plugin oriented
