hi,
does someone know how to make a button with a transparent background in
the toolbar? if i choose a png (with a transparent background), eclipse
change the transparent part into the system grey. my toolbarbackground is
not gray, so it looks very ugly.

AFAIK this is a system limitation on buttons, but I'm not 100% sure.
You can ask in eclipse.platform.swt
