my code actually is :

Combo cw = (Combo) comboWhatAry.get(idx);
cw.clearSelection();
cw.removeAll();
cw.setItems(comboWhatItems[c.getSelectionIndex()]);

c being anothe Combo...

found using cw.select(0);...
