[RCP Export] ClassNotFoundException - Solution [message #444742] Mon, 20 February 2006 07:37 Go to next message

For those exporting an RCP app and getting a ClassNotFoundException when
the Bundle tries to load your application and you are using 3rd party
jars in a lib directory the solution is:

open your MANIFEST.MF file and add ., after the Bundle-ClassPath:

Since this bug has been open for some time and has caused many of hours
of scratching heads and not to mention all the time spent writing to the
newsgroup I assume this is some form of sadistic RCP initiation ritual.

I propose we move on and instead adopt a new ritual which when exporting
the build we leave out the 42nd class being compiled from the jar. This
will undoubtedly drive the newbies crazy and re-flourish newsgroup activity.
