Hi,
I'm using BIRT release 1.0 with Eclipse 3.0.1. I can successfully display
a bar chart in the preview panel but the labels on the legend are
"<undefined>". Where do you set their values in the chart properties ?

Thanks,
Stefano

Hi Stefano,

The entries in the legend are set through the SeriesDefinition. In the
Chart Builder UI, you can set the SeriesDefinition for orthogonal series
in the Y Axis data sheet (Data > Y Axis). Enter your SeriesDefinition
label in the text field in the 'Series Grouping Key (Optional)' section
of the sheet. If it is a static label, be sure to enter it in quotes
(e.g. "My SeriesDefinition").
It is also possible to enter an expression (e.g. row["column"]) for the
SeriesDefinition if more than one series is being plotted on the chart.
You can either type the expression directly in the text field or enter
the expression using the expression builder. The expression builder can
be invoked by clicking on the first button after the text field (the one
with the little 'fx' image).

Thanks,
Milind
