Will future GEF "2.1" support customizable key bindings? [message #44147] Thu, 21 November 2002 02:53
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello,

As some of you here may already have tested, the recent "Eclipse 2.1
Milestone 3" does implement a long awaited feature for serious IDEs:
customizable key bindings.

My questions are:
- Will it be possible for us to take advantage of this new feature in the
GEF release that will correspond to Eclipse 2.1 GA date
- What would the the programming effort to take advantage of this (I am not
refering to programming effort in GEF itselves, that's a topics for GEF
mailing list I guess...)? I would expect to have a way to bind custom keys
to GEF commands, switching to a given tool, and gestures in the graph
editor, at least... is that reasonable?

Alex.
