Perhaps you should take a look at http://www.mxgraph.com .
The JGraph people have a superb javascript diagramming API based on
JavaScript with JavaScript and serverside Java API.

I think that could be the missing part to implement the GEF/Draw2D in RAP.

For similar functionality, we already used, with sucess, the free Open-jACOB
Draw2D (http://www.openjacob.org/draw2d.html) - the OpenjACBO itself it's
also based on Eclipse.
