Just wondering: since (IIUC) PDE is now "in" RCP rather than (or
rather, below) Eclipse, and also since eclipse.platform continues to
be way huge ... is the preferred newsgroup for PDE queries e.p or
e.p.rcp?

Where did you read the PDE is now part of RCP? I just went to last
nights RCP download and it doesn't include PDE.

I meant the plugin machinery, which I thought was part of RCP now.

PDE is the Plugin Development Environment. Which is separate from the
Platform (the plugin machinery part).

PDE is not part of RCP. There technically isn't a newsgroup for PDE,
but historically eclipse.platform is your best chance of getting an answer.

Now that's nice... of four answers to the actual subject 'where to post
PDE questions', at least one is not exclusively concerned with stating
that 'PDE is not RCP'. Thanks.

Just as a matter of interest, why is there no PDE newsgroup? Problems
with plug-ins, views, editors, etc. are discussed in both newsgroups,
which makes it difficult to decide where to post and search---especially
for newbies.

Martin
