welcome page/intro part always appears [message #437151]

When I run my RCP app, the Welcome page always appears. This only happens
when I run the deployed the application. When I launch my RCP app from
inside of the IDE and close the intro part, it doesn't reappear when I run
again.

I have the configurer.setSaveAndRestore(true) invocation in the initialize
method of the WorkbenchAdvisor subclass.

As an experiment, I tried copying the .metadata files that get created
when I launch my product from the ide to the deployed location's workspace
but that didn't change the behavior.

I deploy the application using a .product configuration based upon plugins
instead of features.

I am using Eclipse 3.1.0

I'd appreciate any pointers. Thanks in advance.
