To whom it may concenr,

I develop my own EMF project. Now I want to modify the plugin.xml in
org.eclipse.emf.validation.examples.general, so when I run the "eclplise
Application", I can have "validation" button.

Best,
Haifeng

Hi, Haifeng,

That example puts a validation menu action in the EXTLibrary editor's
context menu. See the plugin.xml file in the example plug-in to see how
that is done. You can do it in much the same way in your own editor.

By "button" do you mean specifically a toolbar button? I suggest
reading the "Platform Plug-in Developer Guide / Programmer's Guide"
documentation, the "Plugging into the workbench" section for more
information about adding actions to menus and toolbars:

http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/index.jsp

It's really quite thorough. There are also articles that may help:

http://www.eclipse.org/articles/

Contributing actions to context menus and toolbars isn't really an EMF
question ...

Cheers,

Christian
