I had it working for a while, starting that is, now it will not. Here is
as dispassionate an account as I can muster:
1. At first I created the Dynamic Web Project, made the Today.jsp page
and tried to do 'Debug on Server' and a message popped up saying:
'Server Error / Did not find anything to deploy to a server.'
2. Then I went and opened the server window and got the Tomcat setup
working (don't remember exactly what I did), but it would start.
3. Eventually the need to edit the config files arose and so I came on
here to find out where they were and found a post about checking a box
to make those files be added to the project. So I deleted the Tomcat
server I had and created a new one. That did nothing and now Tomcat
won't start again. After wasting a lot of time, I found that the
configuration for running the server was still in the Run dialog, and it
still pointed to the .metadata files. I deleted that and tried to create
a new server and now I can't even create a server! I get to the second
page of the wizard and it asks which projects I want to apply it to, my
project shows up, I add it to the other pane, and then the wizard hangs.
Clicking Finish just makes it blink. Eventually have to click cancel.
Am I missing something? Do I have to recreate the project again??
Guess I'm going back to starting Tomcat from a command window. So far my
record w/WTP is dismal: wasted a lot of time w/the db thing and that
never worked (but thankfully found SQLExplorer which smokes it anyway
and is very simple to get going), and now this. I'm doing all this on OS
X, maybe that is the reason.

Forgot to mention, even when it was 'working,' there were a bunch of
errors in the console because of access denied errors in the /work dirs....

Hello Rob,
I too had the first error you report "Server Error / Did not find anything to
deploy to a server.". However I solved this by making sure the "Today.jsp" file
was under the "WebContent" folder of the new "Dynamic Web Project" created.
However I still have not got it working. A problem with Tomcat. See my other
posts.
Cheers
Ian
