That's a weird problem.
Two things:
1. We since released 3.4SR1. You should use that tag instead.
2. A critical bug was found in the 3.4 and 3.4SR1 releases. We should
create a new maintenance build shortly that fixes that issue.
You can also use the 3.4 branch code (branch is 1.0.x).
