Updated Logic Example [message #42329] Thu, 14 November 2002 13:59 Go to next message

I uploaded a new version of the logic example to fix problems with the newest
build of GEF. If you're trying to run the logic example with today's GEF build
(20021114), you'll need to download the newest logic zip file (also 20021114).
The link is still on the GEF homepage under "What's New", but it points to the
new file. Hopefully soon, the logic example will be built automatically with
the rest of the plugins.

Thank you for the information Eric, but is there any reason we could trust
in for why GEF/draw2d/examples are not built with the rest of Eclipse?

I mean, you have Eclipse-version / milestone related targetted evolution,
you have bugzilla entries, so why not sharing the big bath? Otherwise, there
always is not doubts of your matching such or such Eclipse level...

Just asking, you know...

ah... I wasn't clear enought? Let my try again:

I am asking why GEF and Draw2d builds are still not part of the rest of
Eclipse source code evolution process?

At the beginning, when GEF/Draw2d where still in com.ibm.etools.* packages,
so that was understandable, but since August 2002 refactoring, I see no
obvious reason why GEF/Draw2d shouldn't be promoted to the build / test
objects / milestones process that works so well for Eclipse core, SWT,
workbench, JDT... just to mention a few ;-)

Will GEF/Draw2d be forever punished for not being part of IBM code donnation
the first time?
(just teasing ;-)
