Workspace dependency for RCP GMF-Application? [message #417926] Fri, 28 March 2008 21:08 Go to next message

Hi,

i'm just evaluating if GMF is the right framework for my project.
i want to implement a GMF workflow designer as a rcp application.
In this rcp application i do not want to have eclipse workspace dependency.

Does GMF require a workspace (e.g. only loading, saving files in the
workspace) or
are there no restrictions concering GMF and RCP?

Is GMF the right choice for implementing a workflow designer as Eclipse RCP?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Greetings

Florian

Forlian,

It's best to ask on the GMF newsgroup, which I've added to the "to" list
of the reply,

I am building an RCP application using GMF and I do not see any
dependencies with Workspace.
I should say there is none.

SeB,

It seems to me that parts of the GMF runtime depend on
org.eclipse.core.resources. But I was also under the impression that
GMF was able to generate an RCP application....

You'r right but as Giovanni said if you need to create, open, edit
diagrams in the filesystem. this works fine without the need of working in
a workspace .
