Hi all,
I am trying use Eclipse 3.0.2 to edit a MS Word XP document. I created the
document inside of Eclipse with the .doc extension. Double clicking it opened
the requisite OLE editor. I entered the documentation that I needed, cut stuff
from a plain text file, reformatted some paragraphs, etc. I saved the file (or
at least thought I did) and left for the weekend. This morning the file is empty.
This time I opened the file with MS Word, did all the same stuff as before, and
saved it. Everything fine so far. Open it in Eclipse, the text is huge, and I
find that the page size is now 11" x 11.58", and there is no way inside Eclipse
to change that. I make a few (very few changes) inside Eclipse and attempt to
save the file. Nothing happens. The unsaved file indication on the tab
remains. The changes may have actually have been saved, but it is still spooky.
I open the file with Word while it is open in Eclipse (yeah, I know) and made
the page size change. I save the file in Word. I close the file in Eclipse,
and reopen it. Page size reverts and it still will not save.
I know I can associate the *.doc extension with MS Word and have it run
externally, but I'm trying to reduce the number of open Windows.
Any suggestions?
