Hi,
I regularly visit this project's newsgroup for a month and a half to see
in what stage is its start. I am researching on techniques for
automatizing voice service development and their integration with web
services. I think my interests intersect with the Voice Tools Project's
objectives and hope to contribute to its development.
As I see this project is still in an approving stage. I would like to know
the approximate date of its start and more about the procedures of
participating into the project.
Thanks,
Ferad

Thanks,
Your answer gave me more specific point on finding the common between my
interests and deficiencies to be helpful in the project.

Hi,
I'm glad to hear your interest in the project. I don't have any dates but
I've been checking with the applicants and I'll try and post dates when I
know more. I know everyone is eager to get started!
In terms of participating in the project, there is typically a vote to
accept a new committer that requires a demonstration of ability and
interest. If I were you I would start developing code for inclusion now in
the area that interests you using the web tools project's codebase to get an
idea of how the XML editors will be utilized. That will give both the
project an additional potential injection of function when it gets rolling
and a resume of code to reference to demonstrate your willingness to
contribute. When the project gets going, functionality milestones will be
set which may not initially encompass what you're interested in but the
availability of code has a way of swaying plans significantly.
