Placing a Label on a different layer than the connection [message #40684] Thu, 07 November 2002 15:51 Go to next message

In GEF example, it shows us how to place a label in the middle of a
connection.
To avoid my overlap label problems that I posted earlier, Randy Hudson
suggests me to put the label on a different layer than the the connection.

But I can't find any information/example about putting a label on a
different layer than the conenction. Could someone please help.

Thanks.

see activeFigure() in AbstractConnectionEditPart.
you could extend this to also call activateLabel(), which places a label on
a different layer.

Layers are created by the RootEditPart, such as FreeformRootEditPart
