Leonardo,
Thanks for your interest in BIRT! As BIRT reaches the 1.0 release level, a
number of documentation resources will become available. First, BIRT 1.0
will include documentation for many common tasks. Second, complete Javadoc
documentation will be available for each API. The team is also looking into
ways to provide overview information for the various APIs. Further, once the
product settles down after 1.0, we'll update our existing examples -- and
create additional examples.
What kinds of information, in particular, would you like to see?

The Release 1.0 documentation is available from the Eclipse Workbench
Help->Online Help->BIRT Developer Guide entry. This documentation includes
the user manual which includes information about programming with BIRT APIs
and and extension points as well as using the Report Designer. The Javadocs
for the public APIs and the HTML documentation generated from the extension
points are also available here.
The information in the user manual will continue to be updated as we
approach the 1.0.1 release. And beyond that, of course!
