I haven't found any incompatibilites with 1.0 plugins with XDE or WSAD 4 or
2.0 plugins with WSAD 5. It's a bigger problem that plugins rarely document
exactly what Eclipse version they require and also often don't support the
automatic update scheme (there isn't a standard even for how a plugin zip
file should look like).
Of course, if new plugins use any specific features in Eclispe 2.1, you'll
have to wait for Rational/IBM to upgrade their toolsets before you can apply
them there.
