Dataset parameters with SQL server [message #368931]

Using a connection to SQL server (via JDBC, driver is
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver (v2.0)), when I try to create
a parameter in query (adding WHERE something = ?) the parameter does not
appear in the dataset parameters tab.

Connecting to a different data source (not SQL server) the parameters run
fine (we created hundreds of such reports indeed).

The problem occurs both with birt 2.3.x and 2.5 (galileo).

I saw a similar issue in a discussion dated 2005 (see
http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.birt/msg00931. html) but it's
quite old (dated 2005) and there is no final answer.

Please advice.
