Hello everybody,

is there any difference between .ecorediag files and .ecore_diagram files?

Should I decide in favor of one of these formats? Is one of them deprecated?

Thanks,
Gerrit

Hi,

*.ecore_diagram files belong to the GMF Ecore editor example (see
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/gallery/index.php).
*.ecorediag files belong to the EMFT Ecore Tools component (see
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/?project=ecoretools)

The GMF editor is provided as an example, so that you can appreciate the
power of GMF :the graphical editor is fully generated.

The Ecore Tools editor still rests upon GMF, but it has been customized
and is also released with a set of tools in order to make easier Ecore
editing (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/EcoreTools_New_Noteworthy
for more details about the features).

I would highly recommend to use the Ecore Tools project in order to edit
your Ecore models graphically.

Regards,
Jacques
