Just to note that there is a Java server that can run PHP applications :
http://www.caucho.com/resin-3.1/doc/quercus.xtp
It is Open Source.

Since it is Java, maybe it would be easier to integrate in Eclipse,
Start/Stop, Deploy and Debug ??

(I won't have time to develop anything on the subject, it is just for
information)
