Increased line spacing in 2024-03 views [message #1864106]

I just upgraded to Eclipse 2024-03 and noticed that the line spacing in the Package Explorer is greater than it used to be (i.e., more whitespace, less density) as compared with 2023-12. I assume this is a side-effect of the changes described in the 2024-03 New & Noteworthy related to incrementally displaying info in that (and other) views. I'm generally a fan of high-density UIs so I'm unhappy with this change. Does anyone else feel the same way? Is there any way the old density can be restored?

Yes, someone is working on that.

There are links from that to the issue which has a very long discussion about the nature of this change. (The change is not related to incremental displaying of information and is actually intentional, though predictably disturbing to many, because I too would personally not be happy to see less information on my screen.)
