SUMO roundabout connection [message #1860560]

Hello,
I want to create a roundabout using netedit 1.18.0. The roundabout should represent a very simple basic model, therefore the incoming- and exit-lanes are connected in a straight manner.
I create the edges and then use the right-click option "convert to roundabout (using junction radius)", resulting in the connections displayed below:

This result arises several questions:

Why is the connection on the circular path not round?
Why is the connection from the incoming lane to the lane connection the outgoing lanes less curved and outside the roundabout lanes?
Why are the connections of the entry lane and the exit lane not symmetric?

Can somebody help me understand these problems, or tell me how to solve the connection outside the roundabout lanes? That would help me a lot.
