XSD import [message #1860442] Sat, 05 August 2023 10:41 Go to next message

Hi all,

I have a question:

Is there a possibility (e.g. plugin) to import XSD structures into the Papyrus CASE tool?

EA supports it, although I'm not entirely sure if it's doing it correctly.

https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/16.0/modeling_domains/import_xsd.html

Thanks for the answers

Hi, Ilja,

I don't know whether there's any easier path, but you should be able to import from XSD into a UML model using the XSD file as the source in the New UML (or New UML2?) model file wizard. Then you can create a Papyrus model from their UML file and initialize a class diagram from it.

I haven't any clear details beyond that, sorry.

HTH,
Christian

If direct XSD2UML fails, you may have more success with XSD2Ecore, which is used more often. Perhaps tidy up the Ecore to exploit the benefits of modelling, then do Ecore2UML.
