When using an older version of Eclipse 2019-06-R and debugging a Tomcat Server attached to a maven project I can make Java and JSP changes and they will take effect almost immediately. I am testing out a newer version of Eclipse, 2023-06-R, using the same project and same Tomcat but every small change I make causes Eclipse to start Building and takes anywhere from 3-30 seconds to complete before the changes take effect. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this and what if any changes I can make to improve the performance?

In case anyone else has a similar issue. The root cause appears to be related to the JDK we were using, although I don't understand why. We were removing the JustJ JRE and instead using a RedHat version of OpenJDK. Does anyone know why Eclipse would perform so poorly when using OpenJDK instead of the JustJ JRE?
