Hello everyone. I'm getting into TTCN3 as it is used for Mission Critical Services in the 3GPP spec 36.579-5.

I'm debugging an issue where xsd2ttcn is generating an error

RFC5874-xcap-diff.xsd (in type elementType): Reference for a non-defined simpleType or complexType type: anyType

I'm admittedly not an expert in any of this, but the XSD seems properly formed. All versions of the spec I've spot checked seem to have the same issue. Any help is appreciated.

I am on ubuntu 22.04 using the prebuild binaries ttcn3-9.0.0-linux64-gcc11-ubuntu_22.04.1_lts_foss.tgz, mainly working off of 36579-5-h10.

TTCN-3 and ASN.1 Compiler for the TTCN-3 Test Executor
Version: 9.0.0
Build date: May 18 2023 15:49:17
Compiled with: GCC 11.3.0
Using OpenSSL 3.0.2 15 Mar 2022

Thank you all so far for all the work on the tool and having available open source.

Hi Ruffy,

Just to comment that I am also working with the MCX conformance test suite from ETSI/3GPP, and I had many issues with the tons of complex XSDs in this test suite!
For most of the XSDs, xsd2ttcn works fine but for some of them I had to do changes by hand and tweak also the the resulting TTCN type defs.

Attached a modified version of RFC5874-xcap-diff.xsd which compiles with xsd2ttcn and also the final version I am using for my MCX Tester.

But maybe the Titan XSD experts can asses whether the problem is with this XSD or with the xsd2ttcn tool.

Olaf! I've seen your previous posts on 3GPP and MCS and was hoping you were still active in the titan community. Good to know that hand tweaks may be necessary. I will try as you suggested.
