how to save and import the png within GEF? [message #1849443] Thu, 20 January 2022 04:44 Go to next message

Hi,

I just learned how to generate .dot file in GEF.
And the diagram can be shown as a png file by right click- shown in - GEF dot graph.

But it seems no way to save this png or import it.
Is there solution to save the diagram?

Thanks
Fang

Hello Fang,

For that purpose, you can use the "Sync Graphviz Export" toggle button.

From the GEF DOT User Guide: https://github.com/eclipse/gef/wiki/DOT-User-Guide

"The Sync Graphviz Export feature uses the Graphviz native executable to export the *.dot files into different image formats such as *.pdf, *.png, *.svg ...etc., which can be configured on the DOT Preference Page."

Hope that helps,
Tamás
