So whenever i type in the middle of brackets this box shows up on one of them and is very annoying
please help remove

Set Preferences->Java->Editor; "Bracket highlighting" to your liking.

You sugestion did not work.
I am with this same problem and noone know how to solve it.
We need to get rid of that hollow BOX over the ( or ) not change the color.
