I cannot reproduce this. Which EGit version did you upgrade from?

I am experiencing the same issue. After installing this update all local repositories become disconnected from Eclipse and [NO-HEAD] is shown in every project. Remote repositories are still showing and connected.

@Terry: also on Windows? And what version of EGit did you upgrade from? Where are your git repositories located in the file system? Inside the Eclipse workspace, or outside?

Can reproduce now. Seems to be Windows-specific, and only with EGit nightly (6.1.x). EGit 6.0.x is fine; EGit nightly on OS X is fine, too. Manual restart of Eclipse doesn't help.

Also appears to affect all repositories, not just clones from Gitlab/Github. I also see it for a local repository.

Given that no changes in any related area occurred in EGit since 6.0, I guess some change in JGit causes this. Investigating...

I've opened bug 577954 for this. It is a JGit problem.

This is fixed in EGit nightly now. (JGit version 6.1.0.202112270830.)
