Have the Milestone (stable) update-site links been abandoned? [message #1848447] Thu, 02 December 2021 10:57

Sometimes I like to try out releases before they're finished. I'm not gung-ho enough for nightly builds, but the "stable" updates seemed right for me, e.g. to board a running train around M3 or RC1:

In Eclipse I tried updating my link for this, following the usual numbering pattern, but this time it didn't work:

After some digging it seems this was quietly retired?

I can of course update to the specific RC (4.22RC2), but I guess I liked how the old one would just update automatically through to release.

Does anyone know the background + motivation for the change?
