Reason for: A containment or bidirectional reference must be unique if its upper bound is different [message #1846993] Mon, 11 October 2021 10:52

When trying to apply the recommendations formulated in https://wiki.eclipse.org/CDO/Tweaking_Performance about how to handle uniqueness in containment, the above error is being reported.

Why is that, especially since EObject only support identity equality and if someone knows that they are adding a new EObject, like one that is not yet attached, should that really trigger an error at the model level?

Thanks
Alain
